Meaning I mainly play high graphic AAA games. It will solve both issues and allow you to choose quality or quantity of frames

#3440x1440p rise of the tomb raider wallpapers upgrade

I'd rather not invest $500-600 into a new monitor if at the ends of the day it won't be a huge upgrade over my current one or I can't handle it even 1 year down the line and it start making games feel sluggish. Is it still worth getting a 144Hz to only be able to use it on some games? How much worse will games running closer to 60 then 100+ fps feel? Is 75hz realistically the sweet spot for a 1080 as there are already games pushing frames down that far, should I stick to my current one? How much better is 144Hz for non competitive games story based games? I am planning on using this GTX 1080 for about 3 years, obviously not going to hold anywhere near 100+ fps on games, hell there's some out now that dont go much above 75-80 on a 1080. But I also hear that once you have that high refresh rate, getting FPS in the 60's, 70's, 80's, etc is noticeable and not good. I have never had a monitor above 60/75Hz and I hear great things about it. I can grab the 34UC79G-B next month and have up to 144Hz or stick with my current monitor and save the money for the future. My GTX 1080 to be replacing my 1060 (Which is just not nearly consistent enough as I had hoped) is arriving tomorrow, and I have a choice to make. So I currently own my 29UM58-P and I really do enjoy this monitor.
